List of politicians bribed by Liqour Syndicate

mopidevi congress liquor syndicateThe Anti-Corrruption Bureau (ACB) officials interrogated two accused in the liquor syndicate of Guntur, including Marri Subba Reddy and N. Srinivasa Rao at Vijayawada on Wednesday.

The ACB officials led by joint director Mr A. Satyanarayana and DSP Mr N. Vishnu interrogated the two persons at ACB DSP’s office throughout the day.
The officials did not allow anyone during the interrogation. However, the advocates of these two arrested persons were present at the ACB office.

It may be noted that the two persons were arrested on Tuesday on the charges of connection with liquor syndicate and lodged in distribut sub-jail here. However, the ACB officials got permission from the ACB court for custody during day time to interrogate the two persons of the liquor syndicate. ACB court granted permission for the interrogation of the two accused in liquor syndicate for three days.

The officials interrogated the two persons having connections with liquor syndicate to ascertain the details of those who received bribes from liquor syndicate in the district.
After day-long interrogation these two persons were handed over to the sub-jail authorities in the evening. The ACB officials also summoned one cashier of a local bar to question him on details of liquor syndicate in Vijayawada.

Meanwhile, the Telugu Desam leaders led by party district president and Mylavaram MLA Mr Devineni Umamaheswara Rao burnt the effigy of minister for excise Mr Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao over his alleged connection with liquor syndicates. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA alleged that the Chief Minister Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has been trying to shield the ministers having connections with shabby deals of liquor mafia. He demanded dismissal of the ministers facing charges of corruption. He alleged that PCC chief Mr Botsa Satyana-rayana is having 245 liquor shops in the coastal belt.

The TD leader demanded that the government notify the list of those whose names were found in the liquor syndicate and take action on the erring officials and public representatives.

Almost every party in the state has links with liquor mafia.

Liquor Syndicate bribe list:

Mopidevi Venkata Ramana (Congress – Excise Minister) – Rs 10 lakhs

M Kavitha (Congress – Mahabubabad MLA) – Rs 5 lakhs

Puvvada Nageswara Rao (CPI) – Rs 3 lakhs

Venkat Veeraiah (TDP – Sattupalli MLA) – Rs 3 lakhs

Sudharshan (CPM) – Rs 3 lakhs

Rajender (TRS) – Rs 60,000

Vijaya Saradhi (CPI) – Rs 40,000

Sadula Srinivas (CPM) – Rs 40,000

Already, the pressure is mounting on Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to sack the Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana from the cabinet, following the claims of liquor contractor Nunna Ramana that he personally handed over money to the minister in the MLAs guesthouse at Hyderabad.

It was shocking to see M.Kavitha arguing that her level has not degraded to just 5 lakhs !
Communist parties claim that they didn’t have enough funds to run their party and organise public meetings, so it can be considered as donation towards their parties.
With members from all parties involved in this syndicate, it has become a major nuisance for CM to decide on what action to take on them, while ACB claims to have solid proofs against them.
